Inclusive by Design
Accessibility is built into our process, not bolted on at the end.
A platform everyone can use, navigate, and trust.
OralCareProgram is committed to making its website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet recognized accessibility standards and continually improve the experience for all of our users across Canada.
Accessibility is an ongoing priority for OralCareProgram. This statement outlines the standards we follow, the features we have built in, and how you can reach us if you encounter a barrier or need information in an alternate format. Your feedback helps us keep improving.
OralCareProgram is committed to making its website accessible to everyone. We believe that coordinating dental hygiene care should be straightforward for all patients and students — regardless of ability, device, or assistive technology.
We design and build our platform with inclusion in mind, and we treat accessibility as an essential part of a quality experience rather than an afterthought. This commitment reflects both our values and our responsibility to the communities we serve across Canada.
Accessibility is built into our process, not bolted on at the end.
We work toward internationally recognized accessibility guidelines.
We review and refine accessibility on an ongoing basis.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), are the widely accepted benchmark for digital accessibility and inform accessibility legislation across Canada.
Level AA covers the most common and impactful barriers for users with disabilities — including contrast, keyboard access, and clear structure. We treat it as our minimum standard and exceed it where we can.
Our platform includes a range of features designed to support people using assistive technologies and to make the experience usable for the widest possible audience.
All interactive elements can be reached and operated using a keyboard alone.
Semantic markup and labels help screen readers announce content clearly.
Text and key elements meet AA contrast ratios for comfortable reading.
Layouts adapt across phones, tablets, and desktops without loss of content.
A logical heading hierarchy makes pages easy to scan and navigate.
Meaningful images include text alternatives describing their content.
Visible focus styles show keyboard users exactly where they are.
Form fields have associated labels and clear, programmatic descriptions.
Errors are described in text so everyone can understand and correct them.
Accessibility is not a one-time effort. We continuously review and improve our website as standards evolve, technology changes, and we receive feedback from the people who use OralCareProgram.
We periodically audit pages and components against WCAG 2.1 AA criteria.
Reports from users help us identify and prioritize barriers to address.
New features are designed and tested with accessibility in mind from the start.
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of OralCareProgram. If you encounter a barrier, have trouble accessing any part of our website, or have suggestions for improvement, please get in touch. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback promptly.
If you need information from our website in an alternate, accessible format — such as large print, plain text, or another arrangement that works for you — we are happy to help. Contact our accessibility team and we will work with you to provide the content you need in a format you can use.
To request an alternate format, email admin@oralcareprogram.ca with the page or document you need and your preferred format.
